Update: 03/26/21
We are sure you’re all aware of the recent PACT Act and its implications for our business, and we don’t want to rehash all of that information. We are here to stay, but that comes with a few changes regarding shipping and receiving your packages. Our goal has always been to serve you with low prices and a huge list of products, and that part won’t ever change. Right now, however, there are new regulations for shipping that we have to talk about.
First things first, you may notice new taxes on your orders placed after March 26th. These taxes are based on state and municipalities, so that they will vary depending on your shipping address. We will calculate and automatically apply these taxes to your purchase at checkout based on your delivery location.
Also, starting March 26th, all orders will be classified as USPS Priority [PACT Compliant] Shipping with an adult signature required. Translation: an adult aged 21+ must receive and sign for the delivery and must present a valid ID to verify the date of birth. This process will add a $7 fee to your order’s final price.
There are a few alternative options for receiving your packages:
1. If you are at home, great! You can sign for your package and be on your merry way.
2. If you are not at home, your USPS carrier will leave a notice slip on your door with instructions for alternative options.
3. You can open a P.O. Box at your local USPS location, and you (or a 21+ adult who lives at your address) will still need to show a valid photo ID to a clerk and sign for the package there.
4. You can request that USPS deliver your package to a local pickup where you (or a 21+ adult who lives at your address) can get it at your leisure by showing the clerk a valid photo ID and signing. Customers can make this request on the USPS website with your tracking information.
Basically, there is no way around the adult signature requirement, but there are options to make it work for you. MistHub is not going anywhere, and we are working around the clock to find more shipping alternatives so we can continue serving you as best we can. In the meantime, we recommend stocking up before the new taxes hit and staying tuned for more updates as we learn more.
Update: 03/10/21
It’s been a trying time for all MistHub fans out there, and we appreciate your patience and continued support through the years.
As you probably already know, US Congress passed the Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking (“PACT”) Act in December 2020. As part of the larger 2021 Consolidated Appropriations Act, the PACT Act designates any vaping-related products, including hardware and e-Liquids, as tobacco products. While this may not sound problematic, this means these products now are subject to the same restrictions as cigarettes and the like, which means shipping through services like FedEx and USPS will no longer be allowed very soon.
MistHub is proud to announce that we will not be shutting down or scaling back our services. Since day one, our customers have been able to count on MistHub for fair pricing, reliable shipping and delivery, and efficient customer service, and we will continue to do so.
What this means for you, our customers, is that you will see changes in our site, and every vape retailer’s site, for that matter. After March 26th, 2021, all shipments of vape products will also require an adult with a valid ID to sign and receive the package; we know this is inconvenient, but it’s the law now. For more information on the USPS adult signature requirement, please read their website update here.
Most importantly, as we mentioned above, after April 26th, 2021, USPS and FedEx will no longer be shipping vape products. We are actively searching for a suitable alternative for our customers, and we will issue another update on this shortly. For vape users who live outside of the continental US, including Hawaii, Alaska, and US territories, we will no longer be able to ship vape products to you after April 26th.
As well, with the PMTA regulations and now the PACT Act, many e-juice manufacturers are discontinuing some or all of their products, so you may see products disappear from our site over the next few months. However, we are continuously restocking what we can and anxiously waiting for our orders to arrive to fulfill your orders.
See, it’s not all bad news; we here at MistHub are excited for this new path before us. We have options now, and we will not be shutting down or discontinuing our services. For up-to-date news regarding laws and regulations, website updates, and more, please sign up for our newsletter. We appreciate your loyalty and understanding, and we look forward to spending many more years with you.
We will continue to update this information as it becomes available.
